Explore reliability, system matching and practical operating needs to assess equipment with greater confidence.
When a cleaning drone is connected to both power and water lines at the same time, the ground system supplies it with continuous resources while also imposing two distinct kinds of external load.
Read article →Continuous power lets a tethered platform carry more equipment, and it also brings power conversion and communication systems into closer proximity.
Read article →Power in a tethered system passes through multiple modules and connection points; the protection capability of any single component must be understood within the context of the complete chain.

The tether supplies continuous power but does not automatically solve all communication problems.

A power switchover may look like nothing more than a transfer from the main supply to the battery, yet the onboard equipment can experience voltage changes within a very short interval.
Read article →Continuous ground power does not mean the onboard battery loses its value.
Read article →An aerial position near a building can provide an open view, but building corners, protrusions, and ground traffic also make the cable route complex.
Read article →In windy conditions, a tethered drone must not only hold its position but also withstand the effects transmitted through the tether.
Read article →Scratches on the jacket not only indicate cable condition but also record where the cable has been in contact.
Read article →A tethered cable must carry power and also withstand repeated bending and stowing.
Read article →The same motor speed does not always produce the same line retrieval speed.
Read article →A tether line must neither sag freely nor pull continuously on the aircraft.
